It's funny because sometimes we may underestimate ourselves until another person comes along and shows us exactly why were amazing : and then you’re sat there like wow, I never realised I could do that. Mind blown.
To be honest with you, for a long time in my life I always underestimated myself, its a habit that I developed and it stems right back to my school years. I would never speak up even if I knew the answer, due having that little nagging doubt in the back of my mind, telling me I was wrong. I'd have a brilliant idea but would never share it, for fear someone might think it was lame.
But I guess we are our own worst enemy and harshest critic. As content creators, we are constantly working & having to bring new and exciting content to the table. I've said it before and I'm going to say it again: it's so easy to get caught up in the numbers game. Thinking that because your 'following' or audience isn’t massive, you'll never be able to work with that brand you love, get that assignment you've dreamed about or get that paid opportunity.
As a micro ‘influencer’ ( I slyly hate this word) it’s very easy to compare & underestimate yourself, and sometimes you may feel like you don’t have a voice because of how small you may be. Or at least that’s what they say. But a lot of us don’t realise in fact just how talented we are, and how many people actually enjoy our content.

1 year ago, I never thought I'd be in the position I am today. 1 year ago, I paid for and attended my first blogger's event. I was so new to the industry, I sat in awe listening to some of the speakers giving us new bloggers tips and tricks on how to learn the ropes. A year later I've worked with so many incredible brands, have the best blogging fam and what’s the cherry on top? - Last weekend I was one of the host-guest speakers, with my own time slot at a bloggers event giving a (micro) influencer talk, telling my own story, how to be successful and work with brands. I know it sounds so cliche and a tad bit cringe (ew), but you need to believe in yourself. We (the majority of the time) are the guidelines for how a lot of people view and treat us. Never underestimate yourself (but ALWAYS be humble).
If you don't think you are worthy, why would anyone else disagree with you? So, your’e approached by a brand for a collaboration, don’t be afraid to speak up and put forward your ideas too! And don’t feel like you have to accept EVERY offer, because you certainly do not.
Never sell yourself short.
Even if you consider yourself to be a fairly confident individual, it’s all too easy to sell yourself short without even realizing it. None of us wants to seem overly confident or arrogant. I mean I'm no guru or life coach, but I do think we need to challenge these self- doubt habits. View yourself as the talented capable person that you are. If you know you deserve something, work hard & go and get it. Trust me when I say, you’ll surprise yourself when you realise just how much your capable of !
