First of all, I would just like to thank Diane von Fürstenberg who first created the wrap dress in 1972, and through this one style of dress, has made dressing much easier.

I've always been a big fan of the wrap dress, there's something so dreamy and feminine about them - if I could buy one in every colour, trust me I would. It perfectly blends effortlessness, sexiness, casual and sophistication.

1. Flattering for every body type

There is no-one that can convince me otherwise. The wrap dress looks gorgeous on ALL body types. Many have argued and debated that wrap dresses are quite the opposite of flattering, but I disagree. With the number of styles and variations of wrap dresses that are available right now – midi (always ultra feminine), mini, maxi, satin, jersey, bardot etc – There’s a wrap dress to suit every one of us. For me, as a girl who doesn't have as many curves as others may have, the wrap dress hugs me in all the right places; it gives me the illusion of a smaller waist. The wrap dress conceals and enhances all the places you want it to - which is why it suits everyone.

2. Comfort over everything

I cannot stress this any more than I already have, everyone who knows me, knows that comfortable dressing is important to me. The wrap dress is easy to get into and even easier to get out of. You can actually breathe (LOL) whilst wearing this dress. Have you ever worn a dress that you've had to suck everything in for hours on end and still manage to smile and make conversation all at the same time? Yeah, I have to, then you'll know how uncomfortable it is.

3.

Suitable for every occasion / Season

Day to night, weddings to a job interview, gosh the wrap dress will even carry you straight from the office over to the cocktail bar. You can easily dress them up or down and for me, they are fuss free and an easy option. You can wear them no matter what the weather, autumn and winter are coming up right? and the weather is slowly changing and becoming chilly, you can wear the dress with tights, boots and a coat.

4.

It’s a style, not a trend

This is probably why I love the wrap dress most ... 45 years later and us women are still swooning over the wrap dress style and wearing them, I think it's safe to say that the wrap dress isn't merely just a passing trend, but it is a style that is here to stay.We live in a world of fast fashion, so finding a style and piece of clothing that isn't going to fade and go out of fashion is rare- I doubt you'll ever hear 'urgh her wrap dress is so 2010'. Just like many of our other wardrobe staples-  the little black dress, the denim jeans, the crisp white shirt and the turtle neck jumper that are hanging in our wardrobes right now, the wrap dress is timeless and has become a staple in every woman's wardrobe.

Alrighty you lot, that’s a wrap for this one! (... sorry I just couldn't resist).

I think my favourite thing about the wrap dress as you mentioned is how versatile it can be – perfect for the summer, perfect for dinners, and could even work in the corporate world!
